Well, what are you waiting for?
Some of you may think that singing is really hard, but it is easy to become a good singer with a little training. Any singer you hear on the radio today has had vocal training. People with a "natural" talent for singing are far and few between.
Boston voice lessons strives to give you quality instruction to help you achieve your goals as a singer and vocalist whether it be to sing with more power, increase your range, reduce strain in your voice, or prepare for shows.
"I like how Lauren could diagnose a problem in the sound and immediately give me an exercise to work on that and to explain what it's feeling like but then also explain what it shouldn't be feeling like...Lauren really cares about her students and their development...most teachers that I've worked with have never cared about the performance aspect and actually applying a lot of the things I've been learning."
~Karina, voice student
My teaching approach draws on modern methods of singing for contemporary pop, rock, R&B, country, etc. My teaching method combines useful information from a number of different vocal methods I have studied.
Unlike many teachers that focus one the one method fits all approach, I focus on what works best for the student and what helps them learn about their voice.
I am both a voice teacher and a voice coach. A voice teacher teaches you the technical aspects of how to sing: how to breathe, how to support your voice, how to get pleasing tone and good resonance, etc. A voice coach helps you interpret your song, make cover songs your own, and improve your performance. I tend to incorporate both into lessons depending on your needs, interests and goals.
Lessons can include any of the following topics, depending on your goals, priorities and interests:
- Basic through Advanced Vocal Techniques
- Learning to sing
- Re-learning how to sing after a long break
- Connecting through your bridges
- Singing effortlessly
- Singing with more power and resonance
- Singing louder
- Extending your range to sing higher and lower
- Song interpretation
- Harmonizing
- Microphone technique
- Recording studio preparation
- Career Topics
- Demo song selection and development
- Promo kit development
- Image and style development
- Band life - getting into one, starting one, or dealing with the challenges of being in one
- Making a living in music
So Are You Ready to Start Singing Better?

TESTIMONIALS
"I've seen tons of improvement, but most importantly what other people have told me about my voice. My band members in particular. We hadn't been playing for about a month and when I came back, everyone was talking about and really complimented on my voice...just within a month they were already able to tell the difference in my voice." ~Mariana F., voice student
"The improvement in my voice have been tremendous and very quick actually. My range has improved and I feel like the overall quality has improved. It's got more a depth to it now which I like. I started taking lessons because singing was a hobby of mine that I wanted to get back into...Now that I can hear my voice improving I am becoming a lot more ambitious and I'm starting to audition for bands which is really fun. I'm really grateful to Lauren for helping me do this. It's great. My life is becoming pretty cool. ~ Helen, voice student

"I drive up from Bridgewater which is about an hour drive. The reason I do that is because its been hard to find a really good teacher where I'm from. I've been looking to work with a professional, someone that really knows how to teach and performs and knows what I want to do. It's really hard to find a teacher like that....I taught myself guitar for a bout a year or two...In the past four months I've gotten much better than in the past two years." ~ Kevin, voice and guitar student
"My range has definitely improved a lot. My lower range and higher range was a little shaky and wasn't very strong and I've definitely seen a huge improvement." "You've been very helpful and I have seen huge changes in my voice since I started. I can't thank you enough!", Vanessa, voice student
"Working with Lauren has been wonderful. I had so much tension in my throat when I first started taking [voice] lessons that I would get tired very easily. The exercises Lauren uses really helped me release the tension in my throat. Within the first month, I was already feeling much more relaxed and singing better than I ever thought I could. Thank you so much."

"Thank you. I could feel my voice was more relaxed the day after our lesson. The exercises really helped."
